John was promoted to the Assistant Director of Information Technology Services in March 2025. John collaborates with senior leadership to implement IT initiatives that support the County's mission. Also, he advises on the latest IT technologies and trends and is a key member of the CIO’s management team, upholding the department's mission, vision, core values, and leadership principles.
John joined Gwinnett County in 2022 as Deputy Director of Emerging Technology and Digital Transformation. In that role, John was responsible for strategy, direction, innovation, and overall execution of new digital and technology programs. Additionally, he had overall responsibility for the development and support of Geospatial Solutions, the Gwinnett County Website, and Public Safety Solutions.
John brings to the County over 25 years of technology leadership experience serving several of the largest county governments in Ohio and Florida, as well as driving technology innovations within the utility industry. He has earned a master’s degree in business administration and holds professional certifications in ITIL, Project Management, Geographic Information Systems (GISP), CISSP and has completed the Certified Government CIO program.
