Park Conditions & Alerts

PARK CONDITIONS

  • All aquatic centers will be closed May 15 through 22, to prepare for the summer season.
  • George Pierce Park – The outdoor basketball courts are closed for repair to the court surface and will reopen upon completion.
  • Gwinnett Historic Courthouse – The elevator is out of service for repair until further notice.
  • Lions Club Park – The water is shut off to the entire park due to water line repair and will reopen upon completion. Port-a-lets are available for use.

 

MAINTENANCE CLOSURES

  • Best Friend Park Gym – The entire gym will be closed September 8 – 13 for repairs to the wood floor. 
  • Bethesda Park & Aquatic Center – The driveway past the Bethesda Park Senior Center and in between Bethesda Park baseball parking lot and the maintenance compound are closed for tree work and will reopen upon completion.
  • Bogan Park – The gym and dance room will be closed September 8 – 13 for repairs to the wood floor.
  • Lenora Park:
    • The parking area adjacent to the dog park will be closed for paving operations beginning Friday, May 1 and will reopen upon completion.
    • The water is shut off to the restroom adjacent to the pavilion and lake for a septic line repair and will be restored upon completion.
  • Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center – The dance room will be closed September 10 – 15 for repairs to the wood floor.
  • Rhodes Jordan Park Community Recreation Center – The center will be closed September 8 – 15 for repairs to the wood floor.

 

RENOVATION CLOSURES

  • Dacula Park renovations:
    • The activity building at 2735 Auburn Avenue is closed for renovation construction until completion. There will be intermittent closures to the parking lot through the duration of the project, use caution when in the area. The tennis courts will be open from sunrise to sunset during construction.
    • The loop road in the rear of the park and several parking spaces near the playground and pavilion will be fenced off throughout the project’s duration to allow for the construction of a connecting roadway between the park and the activity building.
    • The men's restroom at the baseball fields is closed for renovations to the floors, and will reopen upon completion.
  • Ivy Creek Greenway Boardwalk – The boardwalk that connects the Preserve at Mill Creek apartments to the Environmental and Heritage Center is closed and will reopen upon completion. Portions of the trail leading to the boardwalk will close intermittently, please use caution in the area and obey temporary closures.
  • Lenora Park:
    • The gym is closed for renovation and will reopen upon completion.
    • The north side of the trail at the multipurpose field is closed due to construction of a pickleball court and will reopen upon completion.
  • Rabbit Hill Park:
    • Renovations to the parking areas will begin on Monday, April 13. Please use caution in the area and obey temporary closures.
    • Portions of the trail will be intermittently closed for renovations. Please use caution in the area and obey temporary closures.
  • Sweetwater Park – The basketball and tennis courts are closed and will reopen upon completion.
  • West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center – The aquatic center will undergo mechanical renovations that will cause air temperatures inside the facility to vary as the project progresses.
