The Citizens Online Police Report System allows you to immediately submit a police report and print a copy of the report for free. Only certain types of reports may be filed.
The Gwinnett County Police Department provides an online service for obtaining vehicle collision reports through an agreement with APPRISS. Individuals involved in a collision in Gwinnett County or their authorized legal/insurance representative can access their accident reports on www.buycrash.com for a fee. Reports are typically available for pickup four business days after they are taken, and the status of a police report can be obtained by calling 770.513.5000.
Accident and incident reports can also be obtained in person at any GCPD precinct or at Police Headquarters, Monday through Friday, excluding county holidays. The cost for accident reports is $5, while incident reports average 10 cents per page and may be free for victims in some cases (excluding crash reports). Incident reports typically cost 50 cents or less, and cash payment is preferred for amounts under $1.00. Please bring exact change as bills larger than $10 may not be able to be broken.
In order to obtain criminal history information from the Gwinnett County Police Department, there are specific procedures in place due to the sensitive nature of the information. Requests for criminal history information from other states must be obtained directly from the FBI.
When an individual visits our office, they will be given a waiver to sign, granting permission for us to review their criminal history files exclusively for the state of Georgia. It is important to understand that we do not provide criminal history information for purposes related to U.S. citizenship or immigration.
After the waiver is completed, we will review the individual's criminal history and certify our findings. A valid government-issued ID, such as a state-issued driver’s license, passport, or military ID, must be presented along with a social security number to obtain the information. There is a $20.00 fee for obtaining a criminal history report.
Criminal history reports can be obtained at any precinct or Police Headquarters.
