Gang Member Convicted of Murder in Attempted Drug Heist
(Lawrenceville, Ga., 12/19/25) – A Grayson man was found guilty for his part in several gang-related armed robberies that ended in a deadly shooting.
A Gwinnett County jury on Friday morning found Adrian “Draino” Synclare Johnson, 20, guilty of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, violation of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (R.I.C.O.) Act, five counts of unlawful criminal gang activity, drive-by shooting, armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit a felony, conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies in connection with the February 2025, shooting death of 24-year-old Gerryon Ly’Darrius Ceasor. Johnson was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus a consecutive life sentence, plus a consecutive 20 years to serve in confinement.
“Gang violence is intolerable in this community, and we will do everything we can to stop it,” District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said. “We want to thank the jury for this verdict that sends a message that gang behavior will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law when their activities bring life-threatening situations to this community. We hope that this verdict and sentencing bring justice and solace to the family and loved ones of Mr. Ceasor.”
Six individuals – Jordan Maurice Luna, 19, Solomon James Bartleson, 22, Martinez Tennell Lambert, 17, Vachon Ray Singleton, 20, Kentory Jamaal Watson, Jr., 18, and Jayden Makhi Amy, 18 – were indicted in connection with this case and will be tried at a later date. Johnson faced a jury first because he exercised his right to an expedited trial.
On Jan. 4, 2025, Johnson conspired with fellow gang members to rob a victim of his Draco semi-automatic pistol. On Feb. 2, 2025, Johnson contacted Ceasor to set up a time to meet to buy marijuana at a location in Snellville. When Ceasor arrived at the meet-up, Johnson and his co-defendants pulled up alongside the victim’s vehicle and tried to rob Ceasor of the drugs he had. The defendants opened fire at Ceasor’s vehicle, killing him.
Drug and Gang Task Force Assistant District Attorney David Ian, DGTF Managing Assistant District Attorney Ryan Smith, and Assistant District Attorney Cal Lewis prosecuted the case with assistance from DGTF Investigator Yayoi Huggins and Victim Witness Advocate Armando Perez. The Gwinnett County Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office were invaluable to the case.
