CREWS BATTLE BUFORD HIGHWAY AUTO SHOP FIRE, ALL OCCUPANTS SAFE
(Duluth, Ga., Aug. 25, 2025) - At 1:58 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a business fire at 4216 Buford Highway NW in Duluth, Stefan International Car Service. The initial complainant told 911 call takers that his business was on fire and that everyone was in the process of evacuating.
Firefighters arrived at 2:01 p.m. and discovered heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-story metal building. Fire crews immediately began deploying multiple fire hoses to combat the flames and searched for victims inside the shop. After confirming that all occupants had safely escaped, fire crews withdrew from the building due to safety concerns regarding the fire and the building's construction, and then fought the flames from outside. Firefighters had the fire under control at 2:58 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene to address smoldering hot spots. Georgia Power responded to the scene to secure utility services at the business.
There were no injuries reported in connection with this fire. The business owner informed firefighters that they were repairing a vehicle when the fire started. Crew members rotated through rehab before returning to service. Fire investigators said that the cause of this fire was accidental and originated near a vehicle inside the business.
