Police Volunteer Opportunities

The Gwinnett County Police Department’s Volunteer Program was put in place to serve both the department and the community by encouraging citizens to actively participate in volunteerism to improve the quality of life and services offered by the Police Department.

There are several different areas in which to volunteer:

Volunteers in Demand:
Find out about civilian volunteer opportunities with the Police Department

Get training for emergency preparedness

Citizens Police Academy:
Learn about your Police Department and how officers enforce state and local laws

Start a neighborhood watch program

All applicants must be at least 18 years old and successfully pass a background check. Volunteers will be asked for a commitment of one year with a minimum of 24 hours of volunteer service. You must also complete a volunteer application form.
