(Lawrenceville, Georgia, August 23, 2013) Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to a fatal accident near 6054 S. Norcross Tucker Road, unincorporated Norcross, on Sunday August 18, 2013, at about 11:37 PM. The location of the accident was in front of Bananas Night Club.  Responding officers discovered that an adult male pedestrian had been struck by a passing vehicle.  The Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) took over the case due to the serious nature of the pedestrian’s injuries.  The pedestrian passed away on August 20, 2013 as a result of those injuries.  Investigators determined the pedestrian was at fault; the driver of the vehicle was not charged.

Investigators have not been able to confirm the identity of the deceased.  His name may be Javier Antonio Castro Gonzalez.  A poor quality photo from the ID the deceased was carrying is attached.  Investigators are looking for any information about him, his relatives, and his activities on the evening of the accident.  Anyone with information should contact Investigator D.W.
