Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation recognized as number one in the State

Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation has been recognized as the number one park agency in the state serving populations of 80,001+ by the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA).

As one of the fastest growing, aging, and culturally diverse counties in the state, Gwinnett has experienced unparalleled growth in population, diversity, and economic challenges over the past year and has risen to this challenge through fostering public/private partnerships, tapping alternative funding mechanisms, creative planning, design and development, and citizen involvement and input.

This award demonstrates excellence in support systems, long-range planning, fiscal resource management, citizen involvement, environmental stewardship, historic preservation, technological integration, program planning, and assessment.
