Fire News Release

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 27, 2026) – Firefighters responded at 1:05 p.m. to multiple 911 callers reporting an apartment fire at the Oxford Apartments at 3400 Club Lakes Parkway in Lawrenceville.

(Duluth, Ga., Jan. 20, 2026) – Firefighters responded late Monday night to a structure fire at the Cortland Duluth Apartments, located at 1335 Herrington Road NW, following multiple reports of smoke entering apartment units.

(Norcross, Ga., Mar. 4, 2026) – Firefighters responded late Wednesday night to a report of an apartment fire at the Huntington Ridge Apartments, located at 2610 Windsor Woods Lane in Norcross. A concerned resident of the apartment reported heavy smoke coming from the unit next door.

Firefighters responded at 3:11 p.m. to a report of a house fire at the intersection of Azalea Springs Drive and Lankford Road in Tucker.

(Buford, Ga., Jan. 21, 2026) – At 7:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a business fire at Dillard's in the Mall of Georgia at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford. 911 callers stated there was a dumpster fire in front of the mall, and the flames were catching the building on fire.  

(Lilburn, Ga., Jan. 11, 2026) – Firefighters responded at 6:23 p.m. to a report of a house fire at the 200 block of Sandra Drive in Lilburn. The 911 caller advised that the house was burning, and people were still inside the home.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 8, 2020) – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services will pay tribute to 9/11 victims and first responders with a virtual remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., January 3, 2018) – Weather forecasters are predicting prolonged below-freezing temperatures to start off the New Year.  Firefighters are urging citizens to be weather aware throughout the winter months and year-round.  Keep your home and family safe by incorporating the following safety practices.     

(Lawrenceville, Georgia., Apr 4, 2023) - Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services is currently accepting applications for the next Citizen’s Fire Academy. The academy is being offered with both English and Spanish-speaking instructors. Class will begin on April 19^th and meet every Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. for nine weeks. The average class time lasts three hours.

LAWRENCEVILLE - (Wednesday, May 05, 2010 at 2:24 p.m.) Gwinnett County Firefighters responded on Wednesday, May 05, 2010 at 11:43 a.m. to a report from neighbors of a house fire in the 1700 block of McKendree Lake Drive in Lawrenceville.  

LAWRENCEVILLE - (Friday, May 07, 2010 at 11:37 a.m.) Gwinnett County Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak outside on Stone Mountain Street near Constitution Boulevard in Lawrenceville. 

LAWRENCEVILLE - (Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:40 a.m.) Gwinnett County Fire Investigators arrested a Lawrenceville man and charged him with multiple counts ranging from tampering with a gas meter to theft of natural gas product.  The charges include misdemeanor and felony penalties that could result in significant fines and time behind bars. 

LAWRENCEVILLE - (Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 1:49 p.m.) Gwinnett County Firefighters responded on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 1:49 p.m. to a report from neighbors and a passing motorist of a house fire at 1730 Heathridge Court in Lawrenceville.  The motorist saw the smoke from nearby Russell Road and discovered the house ablaze.  The man knocked at the front door to alert anyone inside.  He then attempted to douse the flames with a garden hose from the outside before the fire department arrived.

FIRE DAMAGES CONVERTED STORAGE ROOM AT MOTEL: 

LAWRENCEVILLE - (Friday, May 21, 2010 at 8:55 a.m.) Gwinnett County Firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 1200 block of Wetlands Court in Lawrenceville.  The fire was discovered by a school bus driver who saw smoke coming from the back of the house and alerted 9-1-1.
