The 911 caller advised that there was a fire behind their apartment unit, and the fire was spreading to the second floor. The 911 callers advised dispatch that people were evacuating the apartments.

    Update #1: - On Monday morning, Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management and Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross joined efforts with the Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services to serve the 40 occupants who have been displaced by the apartment fire. Due to a structural collapse during the fire, fire investigators were unable to access the area of origin. Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was undetermined.

Gwinnett County Police arrived on the scene and found a victim in the front yard who had jumped from a second-story window, and they heard screaming coming from a window on the front of the house.
