E-SPLOST for EDUCATION
Since changes to state law in 1997, Gwinnett school systems have proposed their own SPLOST programs apart from county government programs. As a result, Gwinnett voters have approved five Education SPLOST (E-SPLOST) programs (1997, 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2015) to help fund capital improvement projects.
Together, these five programs have enabled Gwinnett County Schools to pay down debt, build and equip thousands of new classrooms, and improve technology essential to teaching and learning. The current E-SPLOST is expected to raise $950 million.
