Newly Registered Voters
Please review your registration date which is located in the box on the top left side of your precinct identification card. You must be registered on or before the established voter registration deadlines to vote in upcoming elections. Register to Vote in Gwinnett County, Georgia
If you do not have any of the identification documents listed here, you can obtain a free photo ID for voting purposes only from the Voter Registrations and Elections office. Please call 678.226.7210 for details. Those who are entitled to vote by absentee ballot under the Uniformed and Overseas Absentee Voting Act are exempt from the ID requirement.
When you register to vote in Georgia, you are automatically registered to vote in city elections if you reside within the city limits; a second application is not required.
|Step 1:||If you think you are registered but unsure of your status, please visit the Georgia Secretary of State's website. Here you can check your official registration record to determine if you need to either re-register or just make a change to your registration.|

If you are registering to vote for the first time, complete the form (see below) in its entirety, print the form, and enclose one of the approved identifications listed above with the form.

You can submit your notice of change of name or address either by mail to the Gwinnett County Office of Elections, 455 Grayson Hwy, Suite 200, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, Online with the Secretary of State’s Office, completing a manual registration as indicated in Step 2 above or you can scan your notice of change, including your signature and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org In either case, the notice must include your signature to be valid. Notice: Cannot be made by telephone.
After your change is processed, you will be mailed a new voter notification. If a the notification does not arrive within a few weeks, please call us at 678.226.7210 to confirm that your change was received. Please note that the notification cannot be used in place of a valid Photo ID, as it does not include a photo.
|Step 4:||In approximately 4 to 6 weeks, you should receive a precinct identification card that will list your political districts and polling location. If you are unsure of your polling place, visit the Georgia Secretary of State's website. You will be shown a map of your area and where your polling place is located. |

Once you have completed the form, it must be printed and either mailed or hand delivered to the Voter Registrations and Elections Office. By law, applications received via email or fax will be rejected.
Note: Although the above form states DO NOT FOLD OVER, STAPLE, OR TAPE, it only applies to the printed original form. The PDF copy may be sealed as needed for mailing, although we recommend that staples not be used. Staples get caught in the mail processing equipment and often tear the documents, which could delay or prevent you from becoming registered to vote.
