COOKING FIRE DAMAGES MOBILE HOME

Firefighters responded on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 5:41 p.m., to an occupant report of a mobile home fire in the 4200 block of Smoke Creek Parkway, SW in (unincorporated) Snellville.  The caller to 9-1-1 reported a fire in the kitchen.

Crews arrived to find smoke showing from a double-wide mobile home.  Firefighters quickly deployed a pre-connect hose line and made immediate entry to extinguish the fire and conduct a primary search.  The occupants, 1-adult and 3-children, were outside-safe when the fire department arrived and no injuries were reported.  Fire crews worked fast and contained the fire to the kitchen.  The blaze caused moderate damage in the kitchen and sent smoke and heat throughout.

The occupant was cooking at the time and was briefly distracted by the children.  She discovered the kitchen ablaze and got everyone out of the structure.  The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance for 2-adults and 3-children displaced by the damage.
