(Norcross, Georgia)  A twenty-nine year old woman died in an early Saturday (08/17/2019) morning accident on Dawson Boulevard.  Shortly after 2 AM, officers assigned to the West Precinct were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Dawson Boulevard near McDonough Drive in unincorporated Norcross. 

Based on the preliminary investigation, Shantier Dukes (Atlanta) was driving a white Hyundai Sonata east on Dawson Boulevard just north of McDonough Drive in a curve.  Her vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole.  She later died from her injuries.

It is still unclear why she left the roadway, but alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible factors.
