Suspect Arrested for Robbing Local Home Depot

Update #1, 08/12/2019: After a thorough investigation, the lead detective assigned to the case identified Terrill Banks (age 36) as the suspect in this robbery.  Initially, it was believed that two suspects were involved in the crime.  But, after doing more research, it was discovered that Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 were the same person.

On July 29, Terrill Banks was arrested by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.  He is facing the following warrants for the robbery on May 4 and other crimes:

  • Armed Robbery (2 counts)
  • Aggravated Assault (1 count)
  • Shoplifting (9 counts)

His extradition will be arranged by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

(Suwanee, Georgia)  A Gwinnett County Police Department detective needs assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for a robbery and series of shoplifting cases in Gwinnett County.

On Saturday, May 4, at around 9:30 PM, officers assigned to the Central Precinct responded to a robbery at the Home Depot at 1480 Satellite Boulevard in unincorporated Suwanee.  After meeting with the employees, the officers learned that the suspect entered the business using the contractor entrance and obtained a shopping cart.  He loaded several boxes of tools into the cart.  While approaching the cash registers quickly, a cashier grabbed the shopping cart, assuming the suspect was going to his register.  The suspect pried his body between the Home Depot employee and the cart and displayed a knife with a red handle.  He told the employee to let go of the cart.  The employee released the shopping cart, and the suspect quickly exited out of the contractor exit.

The suspect was last seen getting into the passenger side of a white Toyota Sequoia.

The lead detective assigned to this case believes that this suspect and his co-conspirator may be responsible for several other theft cases in Gwinnett and the metro-Atlanta area.

These suspects have been observed using different vehicles and switching out tags.  They have used an older model gold Chrysler Pacifica (stolen), a newer model silver/blue Mazda passenger car, a newer model white Ford F150 4x4, and an older model white Toyota Sequoia.

Suspect #1:               Dark-skinned black male, 6’04”, skinny, sleeved-out tattoos, wearing blue jeans, red shirt, red/white hat, and brown shoes with white soles

Suspect #2:               Black male

Suspect Vehicle:      Older model white Toyota Sequoia with sunroof, unknown tag
