Suspect Wants to Buy Cigarettes and Doesn't Have His ID, He Returns and Robs the Business

(Stone Mountain, Georgia) Gwinnett Police detectives need the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery.  On May 28 the black male suspect enters a gas station on Rockbridge Road in unincorporated Stone Mountain.  The suspect is initially wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, black and red shoes, and a white t-shirt on his head.  He walks up to the counter and asks for a pack of Newport 100s.  The clerk requests to see his ID and he claims to not have it on him.  He tells the clerk he needs to go get it and leaves.  He returns approximately 10 minutes later and he is now wearing a black and red hat with floppy ears.  He walks to the counter and says “I’m ready now” and produces a black handgun.  He gives the clerk a black bag and demands for the clerk to “put all the cash in the bag.”  He repeatedly tells the clerk to “hurry up” and at one point threatens to “blast” the clerk.  After she hands him the bag with the money in it, he quickly leaves the store.

One video captures the interaction with the clerk and it is possible someone will recognize the suspect’s voice.
