Adopters and Fosters can apply online
Before committing to lifelong care of a pet, potential adopters are encouraged to consider the type of pet that best suits their family. Responsible pet owners provide appropriate food, water, shelter, and medical care as well as companionship, exercise, and a happy living environment.
Pet owners should also read and follow the Gwinnett County Animal Ordinances.
For those interested in adopting or fostering a pet, simply complete the online Adoption/Foster Application to speed up the process when you arrive for your visit! Or, potential adopters can complete the application in person.
There are no holds for any animal at any time. Residents must be at least 18 years old to adopt. Remember to bring a leash, collar, or a cat carrier.
Please note that shelter pets posted on the website represent stray and found pets, as well as those that may be adopted.
Photos of injured animals that are found are not posted on the website due to their graphic nature. If you have lost a pet and do not see it among the shelter pet photographs, call 770.339.3200 and provide a description of the pet and the address of where the pet was last seen. Our Customer Service Representatives can provide information or photographs for any pets matching your criteria.
