Georgia's Innovation Corridor Joint Development Authority

Georgia’s Innovation Corridor Joint Development Authority (fka formerly the Georgia Bioscience Joint Development Authority) is a multi-county group designed to pursue biotechnology development along the Georgia Highway 316 corridor, the four-lane highway connecting Athens to Atlanta. The Authority, comprised of officials from Athens-Clarke, Barrow, Oconee and Gwinnett counties, is the first public body formed to drive and coordinate development in the GA 316 corridor to bring high-tech, high-paying jobs along the University Parkway, in a model based on North Carolina’s Research Triangle.

Members serve four-year terms.

Qualifications

Three (3) members shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners and shall be taxpayers residing in Gwinnett County:

  • One shall be the Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners
  • Two may be any taxpayer residing within Gwinnett County who is not a member of the Board of Commissioners
