Gwinnett County Transportation Citizens Project Selection Committee

This 15-member Committee was established by a Resolution adopted by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners on July 19,2022 and consists of:

  • Three (3) appointed from each of the four District Commissioners
  • Three (3) appointed by the Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners

The Committee will be representative of the County’s diverse and vibrantly connected community, and members of the Committee should represent a variety of viewpoints, interests, and community segments so that the Committee may collectively represent the interests of Gwinnett.

The Committee will work collectively with the Department of Transportation to develop potential transportation project recommendations for the 2023 SPLOST Program. The Committee will utilize citizen input to ensure that the County’s SPLOST transportation projects are developed and prioritized in accordance with the County’s mission to support a vibrantly connected community by delivering superior services and in accordance with the County’s values of integrity, accountability, equity, inclusivity, and innovation.

Upon the end of the collections period for the potential 2023 SPLOST program, or at such other times as the project selection process is no longer needed for the potential 2023 SPLOST Program, the Committee shall be dissolved.

Members serve at the Pleasure of the Board of Commissioners and may be removed by a majority vote of the Board of Commissioners at any time.

To be determined - no meetings have been scheduled at this time. A quorum of eight (8) members shall be present in order for the Committee to conduct business.

Must be a Gwinnett County resident. Members shall not hold any interest or office in business, organization, or property benefitting from the selection of projects.

The Committee shall:

  • Provide input regarding project selection criteria
  • Hold public meetings to discuss potential transportation projects
  • Recommend funding amounts for project categories
  • Recommend projects that will be funded within those categories
  • Perform other duties as prescribed by the Board of Commissioner

The Committee may utilize County staff and advisors to operate efficiently and effectively. Any final written reports and recommendations shall be presented to the entire Committee for consideration.
