The tuition reimbursement program is intended to encourage and help employees expand their educational backgrounds and become more proficient in their jobs. This program will cover tuition costs, books up to $100.00 per class, and mandatory fees. It does not cover late registration costs, or any non-mandatory fees. Reimbursement amounts for employees attending private institutions are limited to the costs for a comparable program at a State supported institution. Approved certification courses and exams are reimbursed in full. Employees who have worked for the County for a minimum of two (2) years in a full-time capacity; already obtained regular status; and received a satisfactory rating on their most recent performance evaluation, are eligible to participate. While an employee is attending school and receiving tuition benefits, a full-time work schedule must be maintained.
