To access criminal history information from the Gwinnett County Police Department, we have specific procedures in place due to the sensitive nature of this information. Criminal histories will only be processed in person. We do not process requests for criminal history information from other states, as this must be obtained directly from the FBI.

When an individual visits our office, they will be provided with a waiver that grants us permission to review their criminal history files for the STATE OF GEORGIA exclusively.

Once the waiver is completed, we will certify our portion after conducting a thorough review of the individual's criminal history. It is mandatory for the individual to present a valid government-issued ID, such as a state-issued driver’s license or ID, passport, or military ID. Furthermore, it is essential to provide a social security number to obtain the criminal history information. Please be aware that there is a fee of $20.00 associated with obtaining a criminal history.
