Ride Gwinnett to Merge Commuter Service with Xpress 

Beginning Monday, June 16, Ride Gwinnett commuter service will merge operations with Xpress, a regional commuter bus service operated by the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority.  

Current Ride Gwinnett commuter customers are encouraged to review the upcoming service changes and plan for a smooth transition to Xpress.

• New Service Provider: Ride Gwinnett commuter customers will need to look for and board Xpress buses starting Monday, June 16.

• Route Changes:
• Route 101 will merge with Xpress Routes 411 and 412.
• Route 102 will merge with Xpress Route 416.
• Route 103 will merge with Xpress Routes 411, 412, 413, and 414.
• Route 110 will merge with Xpress Route 415.
• Route 103A will no longer be available.

• New Service Schedule: Trips may depart at new times. Customers can visit the Xpress website to review the updated schedules and plan accordingly.

• Fare Adjustments: Riders will pay using Xpress blue zone fares. All Ride Gwinnett express service Zone 1 and Zone 2 products must be used on or before Thursday, June 13.

These updates are part of the ATL’s systemwide service changes to improve efficiency in response to decreased ridership and shifts in commute patterns following the pandemic. 

Ride Gwinnett held a series of public meetings and received final approval from the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners to proceed with the commuter service transition.

What is Georgia Commute Options?

Georgia Commute Options is a bundling of free services and incentive programs that encourage commuters and employers to make the switch from driving alone as part of a regional strategy to reduce traffic and improve air quality. The program is funded by the Georgia DOT with funds from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program in an effort to attain national air quality standards. Delivery of Georgia Commute Options services is a joint effort between the Atlanta Regional Commission and the region’s Transportation Management Associations (TMAs).

Commuter Programs 

• Gimme Five - $5/day up to $150 for switching from driving alone to a commute alternative like transit. 
• $25 Prizes -  Already taking the train?  Start logging your commute with GA Commute Options to get in to the monthly drawing for $25
• Guaranteed Ride Home: Five free taxi rides home per year in case of emergency.  Application required prior to using the service.

Employer & Property Manager Programs 

• Program consultation to develop a custom commute options program that meets the needs of your organization and its employees.
• Step by step guidance on developing a transportation benefit program to reduce employee commute costs on transit and vanpooling and increase savings for employers on payroll taxes.
• Relocation commute planning assistance:  When an employer moves, Georgia Commute Options provides employees with information about the best commute options available to them to get them to their new worksite.
• Measurement and reporting of direct financial savings to employees, vehicle miles of travel reduced, and tons of air pollution eliminated.
