GWINNETT REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY PAYS TRIBUTE TO VICTIMS OF 9/11 ATTACKS

WHAT: The Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The ceremony will include remarks, a presentation of colors and a ceremonial wreath laying by a combined public safety honor guard. Representatives from public safety agencies around Gwinnett will join the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. The ceremony is open to the public.

WHEN:  Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m.

WHO:  Gwinnett County Fire Engineer Donald Strother will emcee the event. Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash, Lawrenceville Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson, Gwinnett Fire Chief Russell Knick, Gwinnett Police Chief Butch Ayers, Chief Deputy Lou Solis of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Capt. Ryan Morgan of the Lawrenceville Police Department will provide remarks.

WHERE: The ceremony will take place at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial located in the front parking lot of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.
