SNELLVILLE MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED DURING HOUSE FIRE

(Snellville, Ga., November 18, 2019) – A Snellville man was seriously injured during a fire Monday afternoon at his home in the 3400 block of Quinn Ridge Drive, SW in unincorporated Snellville.  Firefighters arrived at 5:10pm, to find smoke showing from the second floor of a two-story, wood-frame house and a victim in the front yard that was being assisted by police.

Firefighters quickly deployed fire attack hose lines and entered the residence to search for additional victims and to extinguish the fire. There was no one else found inside the home by fire crews, and no other injuries were reported. The man was treated by paramedics and was transported by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

The fire was contained to the upstairs bedroom where it originated and caused damage to the room and contents. There was residual smoke throughout the second floor and slight water damage due to firefighting efforts.

The exact cause of the fire is currently undetermined and is under active investigation by the Fire Department. Family members arrived at the scene as crews were working to extinguish the fire and were talking with fire investigators and police.

The Fire-PIO is unable to identify the injured man or provide specific injury information due to Federal Patient Privacy Laws known as HIPAA.

Equipment at the scene included: 3-Engines, 1-Ladder Truck, 1-Squad, 2-Medic Units, 1-Air & Light Unit, 2-Battalion Chiefs, 2- Fire Investigators and 1- PIO
