OVERNIGHT BLAZE DAMAGES HOME

Firefighters responded at 1:46am to a neighbor’s report of a house fire in the 1500 block of Watercrest Circle, NW in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The caller to 911 reported seeing flames coming from the house.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames showing from the front-left corner and already through the roof of a two-story, wood-frame house on a slab. Firefighters quickly deployed fire attack hose lines and made immediate entry to battle the blaze and conduct a primary search. There was no one found inside the house and no injuries were reported. The blaze caused heavy damage to the structure.

Per the Incident Commander, the house was vacant, with no furnishings and was currently up for sale. The homeowner was contacted and came to the scene as crews were fighting the fire. The owner advised that there was a showing of the property earlier in the day on Monday, but no other activity at the house. A Fire Investigator was contacted by the Incident Commander. The exact cause of the fire is currently undetermined and is under investigation.
