WEATHER RELATED INCIDENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 17

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 17, 2020) – Firefighters responded this morning to a few reports of trees down on structures. The following is a brief synopsis of the incidents handled thus far. There are no photos available from the Fire-PIO. This information does not include all calls for the time period. Fire and Emergency Services personnel are continuing to monitor weather conditions and are working closely with Emergency Management and Law Enforcement officials. Residents are encouraged to stay alert to the weather and use caution throughout the remainder of the day.  

TREE ON APARTMENT BUILDING:

Firefighters responded at 6:48am to a report of a tree down against the back of an apartment building on the 700 block of Wynhollow Trace, NW in Norcross. Crews arrived to find a large tree that fell against the building. Limbs from the tree penetrated the roof of one apartment unit. There was no major structural damage. Occupants were home asleep at the time and no injuries were reported. The incident is no longer active.

TREE ON A HOUSE:

Firefighters responded at 7:40am to an occupant report of a tree down on a house on the 800 block of Eagle Creek Court, NW in Lawrenceville. Crews found a large pine tree that penetrated the roof of a two-story house. There was no major structural damage, but the tree did penetrate the roof and ceiling in a few areas of the home. Three people were home at the time and no injuries were reported. The incident is no longer active.

TREE ON A HOUSE:

Firefighters responded at 9:21am to an occupant report of a tree down on a house on the 1500 block of Rock Springs Road, NE in Buford. Crews found a large pine tree down on the house with substantial damage to part of the structure. One occupant was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
