On May 13, a male and female suspect committed an armed robbery at El Amigo Grocery Store, located at 6065 South Norcross Tucker Road. The suspects entered the store armed with handguns. The male suspect confronted the clerk, provided a black bag, and demanded cash from the register.
Later that same day, the same suspects committed an armed robbery at La Escondida Grocery Store, located at 6060 Singleton Road. The suspects again entered the store armed with handguns. The male suspect provided a plastic bag to the clerk and demanded all the money from the register. During this incident, the clerk had a baby in a stroller with her at the time of the robbery.
A few days later, two suspects matching the same description committed an additional armed robbery in DeKalb County.
Following a thorough investigation, officers canvassed the area and used a variety of investigative techniques to identify a suspect vehicle. Utilizing the county’s network of FLOCK cameras, investigators were able to track and stop the suspect vehicle. The male suspect, identified as Jairo Martinez-Villafranca (age 37, Norcross), was taken into custody. He was interviewed by detectives and subsequently booked into the Gwinnett County Jail, charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, and child cruelty in the third degree.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at an address associated with Martinez-Villafranca and identified the female suspect as Belki Reyes-Cordova (age 28, Norcross). Arrest warrants were obtained for Reyes-Cordova, who was apprehended on June 5 by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force. She is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, and child cruelty in the third degree.
