GCPD ARRESTS SUSPECT IN NORTH GWINNETT CO-OPERATIVE BURGLARY
(Buford, Ga., Sep 12, 2025) – The Gwinnett County Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a burglary at the North Gwinnett Co-Operative.
On August 19, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the North Gwinnett Co-Operative located on 4395 Commerce Drive was burglarized. Surveillance footage shows a male suspect forcing entry through a window and stealing several hundred dollars in cash.
Investigators immediately began collecting evidence and pursuing leads. Through investigative efforts, they identified the suspect as Lavan Hickman, 38, of Clarkston. Hickman is currently serving a work-release sentence at the Gwinnett County Correctional Institute for burglary convictions in 2024.
Investigators determined that Hickman left the facility on work release prior to committing the August 19 burglary. He is now facing two additional charges: burglary and criminal damage to property in the second degree.
