STONE MOUNTAIN MAN IDENTIFIED IN ONGOING DEATH INVESTIGATION

UPDATE #1: (Stone Mountain, Ga., May 20, 2025) – The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Terrance Kinard of Stone Mountain. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. The investigation remains active.

ORIGINAL: (Stone Mountain, Ga., May 19, 2025) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a domestic-related incident that resulted in the death of one man.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., officers assigned to the South Precinct responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Salem Drive in Stone Mountain. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male with at least one gunshot wound. Preliminary information indicates that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between two individuals who are known to each other. Homicide detectives responded to the scene, along with the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. The Medical Examiner’s Office was also notified and requested to respond. Investigators are actively conducting interviews and processing the scene for evidence. One male is currently detained for questioning.
