OFFICERS UNITE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS TORCH RUN

(Lawrenceville, Ga., May 13, 2025) – On Thursday, May 15, the Gwinnett County Police Department, in partnership with the Norcross Police Department and Gwinnett School Police, will participate in a 20-mile run across Gwinnett County in support of the nearly 18,000 athletes of Special Olympics Georgia.

Approximately 50 runners from GCPD, NPD, and GCPS will take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which spans the county from Forsyth to Walton. This event is held to raise awareness and support for the upcoming Special Olympics of Georgia Summer Games, scheduled to begin on Friday, May 16, at Emory University.

Members of the media are invited to attend the kickoff at 10:00 a.m. at Pike Nurseries (1105 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Suwanee) or to join at the finish line at approximately 2:30 p.m. at Mission World Church (88 Brand Road, Loganville).
