SHOOTING LEAVES ONE MALE DECEASED

(Norcross, Ga., May 23, 2025) – On May 15, officers from the West Precinct responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Pirkle Road in unincorporated Norcross. Upon arrival, officers located a male, later identified as Andrew Gatlin (age 17, of Lilburn), suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Gatlin was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene. Investigators canvassed the area and conducted interviews. While on scene, authorities were notified that two individuals had arrived at a children’s hospital in Atlanta, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The injuries to both males were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary information suggests that the three individuals met on Pirkle Road for an unknown reason, during which a disagreement occurred, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

At this time, two juveniles are being charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
