SHOPLIFTING FROM A LOCAL T-MOBILE STORE
UPDATE #1: (Aug. 18, 2023) The lead detective assigned to the case has identified the suspect as Damani Wright (age 24, Alpharetta). He has been charged with Theft by Shoplifting. Wright was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on July 22.
During the course of the investigation, detectives across metro Atlanta and various states identified Damani Wright, Jason Hall (age 38, Lawrenceville), and Brent Brooks (age 39) to be part of a larger, organized theft of cell phone stores. Wright and Hall are currently incarcerated at the Gwinnett County Jail. Hall is facing one count of Theft by Shoplifting. Brooks may have left the state.
Representatives estimate these suspects may be responsible for around a half million dollars in theft from T-Mobile stores nationwide. Additional charges from other law enforcement agencies may be forthcoming.

ORIGINAL: (Peachtree Corners, Ga., July 7, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is working to identify a male who stole cell phones from a local cell phone provider.
On July 3, the suspect was seen entering the T-Mobile at 6135 Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners. He cut the cord of the display cell phones, put them in his backpack, and left the store in a black Lincoln SUV.
He is described as a black male with a light complexion, dreadlocks, wearing a face mask, a long-sleeved gray shirt, tan shorts, and a black backpack. This suspect may be related to additional thefts at T-Mobile stores throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
