DEATH INVESTIGATION – UNIDENTIFIED HISPANIC MALE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED

Update #2: (Norcross, Ga., Sept. 27, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office would like to thank the public for tips that led to the identification of Carlos Figueroa Flores, a 35-year-old Hispanic male, last known to reside in the Gwinnett area. A friend of Mr. Flores saw the Facebook post by Gwinnett County Police that included photos of Mr. Flores’ tattoos and contacted the Medical Examiner’s Office. Communication between the friend and the Medical Examiner’s Office led to a positive identification and a next-of-kin notification. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office would like to thank Forensic Artist Kelly Lawson of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for her sketch.

Original: (Norcross, Ga., Aug. 31, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying the remains of a Hispanic male recently found in Norcross.

On August 7, 2023, police officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department West Precinct responded to a suspicious activity call in the area of Live Oak Parkway in unincorporated Norcross. The caller stated construction workers had located a body at a new construction site. Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and Medical Examiner’s Office Investigators responded to the scene. The Medical Examiner’s Office transported the body to the Gwinnett County Morgue, and an autopsy was performed. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.  

 The deceased is a Hispanic male between 20 and 50 years of age. He is approximately 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 6 inches in height and weighs approximately 130 to 150 pounds. The male was wearing blue jeans, which were sized 30x34, a grey GAP brand tank top, blue-red-white plaid pajama pants, a white metal beaded necklace, white socks with a lime green stripe on the foot, a black belt, and a tan or light brown Nike brand hoodie.

The male has a tattoo on his left forearm with the words “John 3:16” and a Rosary with a Cross. The right forearm has two nautical stars and the word “Maria” with wings.
