(Lawrenceville, Ga., October 5, 2020) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a double shooting that happened around 3:00 AM, resulting in the death of a male.  Police were called to the 2000 block of Wheylon Drive after a female called to report that multiple people had been shot.

When officers arrived, they located a deceased male in front of the residence.  The male appeared to have been shot at least one time.  Police located a female who had also been shot.  Her injuries were non-life threatening.

Detectives responded to the location and believe that the shooting was the result of a domestic incident.  They believe the parties were familiar with each other and one person has been taken into custody.  The names of everyone involved are being withheld until next of kin is notified.
