(Lilburn, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a Sunday crash that left one person dead. At around 9 PM, officers assigned to the West Precinct were dispatched to a traffic accident on Dickens Road near Pepperwood Trail in unincorporated Lilburn.  The caller stated that a motorcycle was involved in the crash near Hopkins Elementary School. 

The driver of the motorcycle was Josa Then-Valenzuela (age 27, Lawrenceville).  Based on the preliminary investigation, Josa was traveling westbound on Dickens Road passing in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.  As he crossed into oncoming traffic, he struck a blue Toyota Rav4 head-on.

The driver of the Rav4 had one additional occupant inside the vehicle.  He was turning left off Pepperwood Trail onto Dickens Road when the collision occurred.

Josa Then-Valenzuela was ejected off his motorcycle and died as a result of his injuries.  The occupants of the Rav4 were not injured. Both vehicles were impounded to Gwinnett County Police Department Headquarters for further analysis.
