Update: The victim has been identified as Jose Daniel Martinez (16 years old, Lawrenceville).  At 1:05 PM, on March 1, 2023, Martinez’s family called 911 to report Martinez as a missing person.  Responded officers spoke with his family and found out he had not returned home the previous night. 

While on scene, officers were notified that his possible last known location was 651 Paden Mill Trl.  Officers responded to that address and located Martinez deceased from a gunshot wound.  Homicide detectives canvassed the area and were able to develop leads that lead to arrest of Dennis Calzadilla (20 years old, Lilburn).  Calzadilla has been charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault. 

Detectives are still investigating the motive in the incident and if anyone has any information to call Gwinnett Police. 

Original: (Lawrenceville, Ga., March 1, 2023) – Around 1:05PM officers responded to 651 Paden Mill Trl. to follow up on a missing persons call.  While searching the area officers located a 16-year-old male behind the house deceased by a gunshot wound.  

Gwinnett Police Homicide Detectives are on scene interviewing witnesses.  The Crime Scene Unit is currently processing the scene for evidence.  There is currently no suspect description, and the motive is not known at this time.  The victim’s information is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
