DOMESTIC RELATED HOMICIDE ON IVY STONE TRAIL

Update 1:
(Lawrenceville, Ga., November 27th, 2022) – The Gwinnett County Police Homicide Unit has obtained felony warrants for the arrest of Michael Marin in connection with this incident. Michael Marin is charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. Michael Marin is still admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

(Buford, Ga., November 27th, 2022) – A domestic disturbance occurred at 2605 Ivy Stone Trail, Buford at approximately 10:00 A.M. resulting in the shooting death of Desiree Ann Jean Marin (44-year-old female from Buford). When officers arrived on scene, they located Mrs. Marin and her husband Michael Jason Marin (44-year-old male from Buford) both suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to the hospital where Desiree Marin ultimately died, and Michael Marin remains in critical condition.

The Gwinnett County Police Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation units are at the location processing the scene. The evidence gathered indicates a domestic argument occurred between the couple resulting in Michael Marin shooting Desiree Marin with a firearm and then shooting himself. A school aged child was in the home at the time of the incident but was not physically harmed.
