Update #1: The victim has been identified as Kevin Blackwell of Duluth. His next of kin has been notified. Detectives are continuing to investigate the motive behind the shooting as well as working to identify the person who fired the weapon. 

Original: (Duluth, Ga., August 20, 2022) – The Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a “Person Shot” call just after 2:30 a.m. on August 20^th that resulted in the death of one man.  Officers initially received a 911 call indicating that someone had been shot in the parking lot of the Sportstime Bar and Grille located at 3675 Satellite Blvd in unincorporated Duluth. When officers arrived, they initially located one man with at least one gunshot wound. 

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene. Investigators are asking the public to call the police department if they have any information to share on this case. At this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown. The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
