DISTRICT 1 COMMISSIONER KICKS OFF NEW COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SERIES, CARDEN CONNECTS

(Lawrenceville, Ga. May 20, 2025) – Gwinnett County District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden is launching a new informal town hall series designed to bring government closer to the people it serves.

The initiative, titled Carden Connects, creates space for candid conversation, local feedback and community connection in everyday places across District 1.

The kickoff event will be held Thursday, May 22, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Peachy Corners Café in Peachtree Corners. Residents are invited to drop in, grab a cup of coffee, and speak directly with Commissioner Carden about local issues, priorities and ideas for the future.

“I believe the best ideas come from the community, and Carden Connects is about showing up where people already are - their favorite cafés, community centers or neighborhood spots,” said District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden. “This series is meant to keep our conversations real and our government accessible.”

Following the kickoff, Carden Connects will rotate through locations in every city within District 1.

Peachy Corners Café is located at 6365 Spalding Drive in Peachtree Corners.
