GWINNETT COUNTY SOLICITOR-GENERAL BRIAN WHITESIDE ISSUES WARNING AHEAD OF EARLY VOTING FOR PRIMARY ELECTION

(Lawrenceville, Ga., April 18, 2022) – In light of the alleged stalking and intimidation of elected officials and election workers in Gwinnett County during previous elections, Solicitor-General Brian Whiteside has issued a stern warning to those who may want to cause harm to others this election season.

The Solicitor’s Office will prosecute all individuals who threaten, intimidate or assault elected officials, election workers or voters in the upcoming election.

The standard recommendations for sentencing of any person convicted of simple assault, battery, misdemeanor stalking or harassing communications in Gwinnett County is 12 months confinement and/or a $1,000 fine.

The State Court and Recorder’s Court judges maintain and enact all sentences.
