LEARN ABOUT ROAD WIDENING PROJECT ON DULUTH HIGHWAY IN LAWRENCEVILLE AT OPEN HOUSE

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 27, 2019) – Gwinnett residents can learn about a widening and median project on Duluth Highway/West Pike Street in Lawrenceville at a Public Information Open House Monday, Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.

The project will widen Duluth Highway/West Pike Street, formerly known as State Route 120, from four to six lanes and add a concrete median between S.R. 316 and Hurricane Shoals, about a half-mile. Turn lanes will be constructed at key intersections. The plans also call for sidewalks on both sides of the street.

The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation, is managing this project with a construction cost of $3.1 million. Gwinnett is contributing funding from the 2014 SPLOST program for engineering and right of way acquisition.

The project is anticipated to begin construction in 2022 and take 12 to 18 months to finish.

The open house will take place in the breezeway of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
