OFFICIALS TO HOLD GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR NEW FIRE STATION

WHAT: Gwinnett County will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate construction of Fire Station 13, an 11,000-square-foot facility. The new station will house a fire engine, an ambulance and staff a minimum of five firefighters and paramedics each day. The city of Suwanee provided the land for the project and the County is constructing the station along with related road improvements to Main Street and the intersection with Suwanee Dam Road. The County’s share of the project is funded by the 2017 SPLOST program.

WHEN:  Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at 3 p.m.

WHO: Gwinnett County Assistant Fire Chief Stoney Polite, Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson, District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden and Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette will provide remarks.

WHERE:  Parking is available at the Suwanee Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library, located at 361 Main Street in Suwanee. Shuttles to the event site will be provided. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. The facility will be located at 105 Main Street, Suwanee.
