Learn More(Lawrenceville, Ga., Jan. 16, 2026) – Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson will serve as Grand Marshal of the 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Celebration, hosted by the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County on Monday, Jan. 19.
The annual parade and celebration, recognized as Gwinnett County’s signature MLK observance, honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to nonviolence, service and civic responsibility.
The 2026 theme is “Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way.”
“Dr. King challenged us to do more than remember him, he challenged us to act,” said Hendrickson. “This day is about service, accountability and community, and I’m honored to serve as Grand Marshal alongside residents who continue that work every day.”
The celebration will begin with an Opening Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, followed by the parade stepping off at 12 p.m.
A post-parade celebration featuring live entertainment, food and vendors will take place at Central Gwinnett High School.
United Ebony Society President Zachary Pratt said the event remains focused on moving Dr. King’s message forward.
“Our goal has always been to keep Dr. King’s legacy active and visible in our community,” Pratt said. “This celebration brings people together across generations and backgrounds, and we’re proud to welcome Chairwoman Hendrickson as Grand Marshal for the 2026 parade.”
In the event of inclement weather, the Opening Ceremony and Celebration will be held indoors at the Central Gwinnett High School gymnasium.
The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center is located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville, while Central Gwinnett is located at 564 West Crogan Street in Lawrenceville.
