County offices will reopen and operate on normal schedules on Monday, February 2. All hearings and trials in the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit are canceled for today, except for first-appearance hearings at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson issued a declaration of local emergency on Friday amidst Gwinnett County’s second major winter storm of the year. This action followed Governor Brian Kemp’s executive order declaring a state of emergency for north and central Georgia. 

The local declaration activates certain emergency powers under the Gwinnett County Emergency Management Ordinance and allows for the use of all available County resources to address the storm’s impact.

Five warming stations are open now through 7:00am on Monday, February 2. The stations will reopen from 6:00pm on Monday, February 2 to 7:00am on Tuesday, February 3.

  • Best Friend Park Gym (6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross)

  • Lawrenceville Senior Center (225 Benson Street, Lawrenceville)

Gwinnett County will also continue to operate our 24/7 One Stop for Help phone line. Residents who need help accessing resources for non-emergency situations are encouraged to call 770.822.8850.

Ride Gwinnett will operate service as normal for Monday, February 2. Please expect delays and possible service changes in areas impacted by severe weather. Please continue to monitor RideGwinnett.com and Ride Gwinnett’s social media channels for future service updates. 

Any trash and recycling not collected last week for residents of unincorporated Gwinnett County will begin on Monday, February 2. Any customers whose trash and recycling were not serviced on Friday, January 30 should place their containers at the curb on Monday, February 2 for collection.

Residents are asked to place their trash and recycling containers at the curb on the day of their normal day of service for the week of February 2, which will be collected as haulers complete any delayed services. All yard trimmings and bulk item collections have been suspended for the week.
