A Community Service Aide is a non-sworn position within the police department. The pay starts at $44,447 and includes full Gwinnett County benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or G.E.D., and one year in customer service, community relations or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the job.
Duties include:
- Assisting motorists and directing traffic/blocking lanes at the request of an officer or supervisor on various incidents.
- Working minor traffic incidents like hit and runs on private property.
- Canvassing for video and witnesses for various incidents.
- Taking reports for nonviolent property crimes and other incidents at the discretion of the supervisor on duty.
- Assisting with searching for missing persons.
- Providing basic first aid.
