The Child Advocacy and Juvenile Services Department provides zealous legal representation for children in order to advocate for their legal rights and best interests; volunteer oversight for children in foster care by collaborating with multi-disciplinary stakeholders; and supervision for youthful offenders utilizing the least restrictive interventions that do not compromise public safety.
Guardian ad Litem Division
- Provides legal representation for children alleged to have been abused or neglected and removed from their primary caregiver
- Provides legal representation for children who are the subject of custody disputes
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Division
- Recruits, screens, and provides pre-service training for CASA volunteers
- Provides volunteer advocacy for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect
Probation Division
- Facilitates the supervision, treatment, and rehabilitation of children adjudicated delinquent
- Provides community supervision and case management for Children in Need of Services and youth on probation
- Conducts risks and needs assessments to develop individualized service plans
- Provides referrals to evidence-based programming to reduce recidivism
- Provides disposition recommendations to the court
