Notice: Effective January 1, 2025, and pending further direction from the court, the city of Mulberry will be responsible for all planning, zoning, code enforcement, permitting, and business licensing activities within the city limits pursuant to the city of Mulberry’s Letter of Intent. This includes rezonings, special use permits, variances, zoning certifications, code enforcement, building permits, tenant change permits, certificates of occupancy/completion, development permits, sign permits, occupation tax certificates, alcohol licenses, business excise taxes, and plan reviews and inspections related to these services. All inquiries related to these services for new applications or ongoing projects should be directed to the city of Mulberry. Gwinnett County will provide plan review and inspections related to fire, water, and sewer services for all active and future projects.

There is litigation involving the legality of the Mulberry Charter (SB 333) pending before the Georgia Court of Appeals (Hughes v. Gwinnett, et. al., Georgia Court of Appeals, A25A0484) and the Superior Court of Fulton County (Gwinnett County v. State of Georgia, Fulton Superior Court, 24CV012456).
