Application and Interview Process

The first step to a career in water is submitting an online application.

If the application meets the minimum requirements, it is then sent to our department.
The hiring manager reviews the applications received and selects candidates to interview.
An oral interview is conducted. This typically consists of a panel of 3-4 interviewers. Please note that meeting the minimum qualifications of the position does not guarantee an interview.
The panel of interviewers selects a candidate and informs the Human Resources Department of the decision.

A member of the Human Resources team will contact the candidate with a conditional job offer.
If the conditional job offer is accepted, the candidate will then undergo a background check and drug screen test. The candidate will also fill out necessary paperwork.
Once all background checks, drug screenings, and paperwork are complete, and the candidate is verified as qualified to work in Gwinnett County, an official job offer will be issued.

While there may be some variation, the entire process could take two to three months.
