Learn MoreThe Gwinnett County Police Gang Unit in conjunction with the ATF conducted a nearly two year investigation into the criminal street gang known as "La Gran Familia" which has a number of gang sets underneath identified as the "Latin Kings", "Brown Side Locos", "Malditos 13", and "Pachucos 21." The investigation revealed that the gang members were buying and selling, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Xanax, Marijuana and firearms. Gang leadership and major associates of “La Gran Familia” were identified during the investigation.
On Wednesday May 20, 2015, the Gwinnett County Police Department, ATF, FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals and ICE attempted to serve 38 state felony arrest warrants and 22 federal arrest warrants. The operation took place simultaneously at various locations inside Gwinnett County and within other jurisdictions. During the operation, the following items were seized; ten firearms, $61,084.00 cash, 17.9 grams of Marijuana, 302 Xanax pills, 8.7 grams of Cocaine and 957.62 grams of Methamphetamine. Thirteen of the eighteen suspects from the investigation are now in federal and state custody.
