(Norcross, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police have arrested a 15 year old male after he choked his mother to death following a domestic dispute over him taking medication. Police are investigating whether mental illness may have played a role in the dispute. The incident started shortly after 5 p.m. when police responded to the 1300 building of the Oakwood Vista Apartments regarding a medical call. The caller was the nephew of the victim who had returned home and discovered her body. At that point, the son had fled the apartment where the incident happened. A short time later, he was detained by police near the front of the apartment complex.

There were no other family members inside the apartment when the dispute happened between the mother and son. Homicide detectives and CSI investigators have responded to the scene and are working to determine the sequence of events that led to this tragic situation.
