16 PEOPLE DISPLACED BY NORCROSS APARTMENT FIRE

(Norcross, Ga., Mar. 4, 2026) – Firefighters responded late Wednesday night to a report of an apartment fire at the Huntington Ridge Apartments, located at 2610 Windsor Woods Lane in Norcross. A concerned resident of the apartment reported heavy smoke coming from the unit next door.

At approximately 10:07 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the scene. They arrived within minutes to find smoke coming from a lower-level unit of a two-story apartment building. Firefighters immediately assisted residents with evacuations and deployed multiple fire hoses to attack the flames. Crews safely evacuated 20 people from the apartment building.

Firefighters achieved control of the fire at approximately 10:30 p.m. No injuries were reported in connection with this fire. One apartment unit on the first floor sustained heavy fire damage, with three other units affected by smoke and water. While smoke alarms were present in the apartment of origin, they did not activate. The American Red Cross is working with property management to assist displaced residents. Firefighters determined the cause of this fire to be accidental.

EQUIPMENT AT THE SCENE INCLUDED: 5-Engines, 2-Ladder Trucks, 1-Squad, 1- Rescue, 1-Med Unit, 4-Command Staff Vehicles, and 1-Air & Light.
